While building my world I had a lot of starts and stops along the way. I thought I would share something that I found helpful for a medium map. The spawners can be real resource killers and because I tend to cook for army to feed two people it was important a set of guidelines be created for myself.
While searching the web for information on how many spawners would be too many the only information found was for a large map. So I took their figures and did a bit of math since there are 4 map sizes I felt that about 75% of the recommended amount shown for a large map should work for a medium. Here are the counts I used in my world. These counts do not include what may be on lots. With lots I tried to be careful if adding any.
Category
Metals 20
Gems 15
Butterfly 20
Seed 35
Bug 19
Fishing 22
This seemed to work rather well and I don't seem to experience lag. If anyone has found a more accurate count please feel free to post it.
